Hyaluron Eye-contour gel

Eye area is a very sensitive area with an extremely thin skin with as good as no fat-depot. This area requires a very special care. Here counts: the less is the better.

We've prepared an easy to make moisturizing gel, mild and fragrance free. Application from a mini roll-on glass enables you a systematically professional application as it's done in a beauty salon, applying as little pressure as possible in a circular motion along the circular eye muscles and letting as little air as possible into the container. Apply this gel early in the morning and before you go to bed.

For this project (10 gr Hyaluron gel) you need: 

1% Hyaluron, high MW [sodium salt of hyaluronic acid with a high molecular weight] (0,1 gr)

20,0% Geranium floral water (2,0 gr)  

5,0% Glycerin or organic glycerin (0,5 gr)

1,0% Panthenol (0,1 gr)

1,0% universally admitted preservative Euxyl® PE9010 (0,1 gr)

Boiled and cooled distilled water to balance the recipe (ca. 7,2 gr)

additionally you may need:

a glass beaker (25 ml) or other suitable container for mixing

pH indicator paper or a pH electrode for reading pH

disposable pipettes

Glass rods or other suitable instruments for mixing 

a suitable bottle for filling, we recommend our mini roll-on bottle

Before starting please review our older post about general hygienic manufacturing practice in a cosmetic lab and basic equipments for a cosmetic lab. A hygienic manufacturing process is always very important in a cosmetic lab, in this case it is extremely important. Make sure all of your vessels and your counter are meticulously clean and disinfected before you start. 

One: Disperse Hyaluron in Geranium floral water. Let it stay for almost half an hour until Hyaluron builds a thick gel.

Two: Add successively water, glycerin and panthenol with stirring after each addition. You'll have a clear gel at this stage.

Three: Add preservative and mix further.

Four: Control the pH with an indicator paper. In our case the pH was exactly 7 and we didn't make any pH adjustment. Since Hyaluron is very suceptible to pH changes (to low pH) we do not recommend any reduction of pH under 6,5.

Five: Fill in your previously disinfected container. We've applied our mini roll-on bottle for an easy and hygienic application.
