This is a super easy and funny recipe. The fun part ist that you can press it into almost any possible mold from silicone chocolate molds to hard soap molds. There are thousands of forms that could be made with this recipe and you are not limited to those twin acryl molds with limited forms.
Before we begin like always I would like to recommend a review of our hygienic manufacturing practice in cosmetic lab and basic equipment for a cosmetic lab.
For this project you'll need:
25 gr Lysolecithin
10 gr fragrance oil Melon
5-10 drops of Oxide green color dispersed in Glycerin
You'll need as well
a glass or stainless steel bowl to mix the ingredients
Spatulas or suitable spoons to mix the ingredients
suitable Moulds:
the Milkyway moulds are the best for this project but you can apply other moulds such as HD moulds or even silicone moulds. The seashell in the title photo is pressed in a silicone mould for example. The leaves and the mouse come out of milkyway moulds.
Here we go:
One: in a suitable bowl mix citric acid and sodium bicarbonate.
Two: Wear gloves to protect your nails and nail color from sodium hydrogen carbonate. It is the very same ingredient applied in household cleaners and has an excellent polishing effect on surfaces. You don't want to mix your nail varnish in bath fizzies do you?
Mix the dry ingredients with hands and try to smooth any clumps which might be in the bowl. If there are still any clumps you should pass the mixture through a sieve.
Three: Add a few drops of the color to the mixture and mix well. Apply little amounts of the color specially if it is dispersed in water or glycerin.
Four: in a small beaker mix Tocopherol, fragrance oil and lysolecithin. The mixture might be cloudy but it doesn't matter. Add this mixture to the bowl and mix.
Five: Mix well untill you reach a consistency of wet sand. You should be able to form the mixture in your hand.
Six: The fun part begins. Press the mixture as dense as possible into the mould. This is relatively difficult with silicone molds but it's quite simple with milkyway moulds.
Let the mixture rest at least 24 hours in the mould. Depending on the local humidity, the mixture may absorb humidity in mold and puff a little but it doesn't affect the fizziness at the end.
Pushing the bath fizzies out of mould is much easier than pressing in. Try the hardness however before you apply any pressure. If it appears still soft and fluffy, let it rest for another 12-24 hrs.
Enjoy and share the fun of using your bath fizzies in a whole bath or in a refreshing summer foot bath.
