You may call this project "soapy bath bombs" or "bomb soaps" or "soapy fizzies" or whatsoever. These are fun products very similar to bath fizzies with added soap noodles for more skin care and cleansing and for a more beautiful appearance. I have applied our "red wine soap noodles" for their luxurious feel and the beautiful color contrast to the bomb base, you may apply any other soap noodles, or you may color the base bomb and apply white or beige soap.
You can prepare this recipe both in soap molds (silicone or milky way molds) or form the balls in traditional spheric molds or other twin acryl molds.
For this certain fizzies, I've applied our oriental musk fragrance. If you want to prepare these fizzies for children, I recommend some fruity fragrances like Mango, Melon, Tangerin, Strawberry, etc.
Before we start I want to recommend you to read our older posts about general information regarding hygienic manufacturing practice in cosmetic lab, introduction to Basic equipments and utensils for a cosmetic lab.
For this project (500 gr bath fizzies) you'll need:
4,7% Lysolecithin (23,5 gr)
3,0% fragrance oil oriental Musk (15,0 gr)
You'll need as well
a glass or stainless steel bowl to mix the ingredients
Spatulas or suitable spoons to mix the ingredients
suitable Molds (Milkyway or silicone molds work perfect), or acryl twin molds
Instruction:
One: in a suitable bowl mix citric acid and sodium bicarbonate.
Disclaimer: Wear gloves to protect your nails and nail color from sodium hydrogen carbonate. It is the very same ingredient applied in household cleaners and has an excellent polishing effect on surfaces. You don't want to mix your nail varnish in bath fizzies do you?
Mix the ingredients with hands and try to smooth any clumps which might be in the bowl. If there are still any clumps you should pass the mixture through a sieve.
Two: One by one, add camelina oil, lysolecithin, tocopherol and fragrance oil and mix the mixture.
Mix the ingredients till you're satisfied with the consistency. If the mixture feels too dry, add a tea spoon to table spoon of lysolecithin to improve the consistency.
Three: After you're satisfied with consistency add soap chips and mix further. The final mixture should have the consistency of wet sand and could be easily formed in your hands.
The fun part begins
Four: If you're applying soap molds, press the mixture in the cavities. The more you press, the better the bombs. Let the mixture remain in the mold at least 15 hours.
If you're applying twin acryl or steel molds, feel each half with a surplus of powder and bring the two halves together and press the parts together.
Five: If you have enough spherical molds, let the mixture remain in mold for at least 12-15 hours. If not, try your luck to bring the bomb out of mold. Gently and slooooowly remove the upper half of the form.
Turn the mold, now that the free part is the lower part. Gently knock the upper acryl part with a spatula or spoon to free the bath bomb from the mold.
Relax and enjoy a freshly brewed tea before you clean up the counter.
