Here I am, after a long absence with a super fun and easy project.
It's time to get ready for cloudy, dark and cold winter days. This super fun bath oil nourishes your skin with precious plant oils, strengthens your immune system, disinfects the respiratory tract and improves your mood during dark and cloudy days.
For an emulsifier in this case, I recommend lysolecithin which is a kind of modified lecithin (more hydrophilic than the usual lecithin). This is a natural and naturally derived ingredient from either soybean, rapeseed or sunflower oil. Depending on the origin, lysolecithin has a gold to brownish colour.
Eucalyptus and grapefruit essential oils both act uplifting, disinfect the respiratory tract, increase mental concentration and strengthen the immune system. Lipophilic extracts of Aloe and Eucalyptus add to skin nourishing, emolliency and moisturizing characteristics of this recipe. It is an excellent fast project for yourself or as a last minute gift. Simply mix all ingredient @ room temperature, fill in bottle, done.
As always, before we start I would like to ask you to have a look at our older posts about hygienic manufacturing practice in a cosmetic lab and basic equipments for a cosmetic lab.
For this project (100 g) of bath oil you'll need:
1,0% Eucalyptus lipophilic extract (in sunflowetr oil)
10,0% Lysolecithin
You'll need as well:
A glass beaker (250 ml) or other suitable container for mixing
Bottles to fill the oil
Here we go:
Simply mix all ingredients in a beaker at room temperature. Fill it in beautiful glass bottles and close the lid. Be aware that the scent stabilizes/fixes after about 2 days to 1 week.
Application:
This is a very rich oil. Add 1-2 table spoon per bath to hot running water. Enjoy the emollient oils and the uplifting and disinfecting scent.
I hope you'll enjoy making and applying this bath oil.
