We've dedicated many posts to extraction techniques and and know-how during the last few months. It is one of the most exciting and fascinating topics in organic and natural cosmetics and specially in artisan manufacturing of bespoke products.
In a previous post I've mentioned 7 good reasons why you should consider making your own extracts and infusions.
Formula Botanica has recently published two articles of mine related to the choice of a suitable oil carrier for your macerations, infusions and extracts.
Part one is about basic considerations when searching for an oil. I've named my considerations and then according to those considerations mentioned the 8 best plant oils for botanical oil infusions from my point of view.
We've explained the oil profiles in detail, their constituents, unsaponifiables and thermal stability. I'm sure you can add some oils to the list according the oils available in your region, cultural preferences and your own exoerience.
I would be delighted to have your feedback and the list of your favourite oils for making plant extracts and macerations.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Send your feedback directly to me or post your response on our Facebook page.
