A refreshing fizzy foot soak for HOT SUMMER DAYS.
I was inspired by Anne-Marie for this creation.
I still hope that we'll have some hot summer days.
On extremely hot days, after a long run or bike tour, this refreshing foot soak pumps energy to your feet and to your head. I use my foot bath under my desk, and it not only refreshes the body, it relaxes the mind and refills my batteries for further tasks.
For this project (40 gr Foot soak) you need:
20 gr Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate (Baking soda) : 50%
10 gr Citric acid : 25%
3,8 gr Butyris Lac Powder (Butter milk) : 9,5%
3,6 gr Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba oil) : 9%
0,8 gr Persea gratissima (Avocado oil): 2%
0,2 gr Tocopherol (Vitamin E): 0,5%
0,2 gr Menthol: 0,5%
0,4 gr Ethanol (1%) or vodka
0,4 gr Mentha piperita (Peppermint EO): 1%
0,2 gr D-Panthenol: 0,5%
0,4 gr Glycerin: 1%
(optional) disposable pipettes
a glass bowl to mix the ingredients
2*25 ml beaker glasses or small bowls
a small jar or glass for packaging
Instruction:

One: mix citric acid, baking soda and butter milk in a dry glass bowl and put it aside (Phase A)
Two: Dissolve menthol in a glass beaker in Ethanol, add panthenol, glycerin and peppermint EO and stir with a glass rod or spatula. (Phase B)
Three: Mix jojoba oil, avocado oil and tocopherol in another beaker. (Phase C)
Four: Add phase B and phase C to phase A and mix the whole with a whisk, a spatula or a spoon.
The product would have such an fluffy appearance as on the photo.
Wait a couple of hours before you fill the product in your final container. Crush the clumps before filling the container.
Hints to this formulation:
a) We apply exclusively raw and organic plant oils. You're free to replace Jojoba and Avocado oil with other oils which you've already available in your cosmetic laboratory (Soja oil, camelina oil, sunflower oil, olive oil etc.). Please be aware that the applied oil would influence the shelf life of the product.
b) Please be aware that peppermint EO is very aggressive to plastic, this is why we apply glassware for mixing.
c) Don't be frightened of those figures and percents. I try to work as systematically as possible and show you the scientific way of mixing ingredients (as long as it is possible). Having the percentages as units instead of drops, spoons etc. you may scale any recipe up or down precisely and without any problems. However, if you're confused with those figures, or if you do not have a sensitive scale to measure that figures, send us a mail and SkinChakra® team would advise you in scaling and measuring.
d) You may add 0,2 gr (8 drops) of Niaouli, tea tree or palmarosa oil against athlete's foot or foot odor to phase B.
Application:
Add one TS (this time you should not weight the exact amount) of the fluffy fizzy foot soak to a foot bath @max. 30 degrees (oC). Soak the feet for about 10 minutes in water and enjoy the feeling.
