In the previous post I've promised you a colourful August with adorable oleogel and hydrogel masks.
Today I'm sharing this adorable green mask that looks like kiwi jelly (but obviously it is not).
The principle is the same as the previous mask. I've just used organic and virgin avocado, organic and virgin hemp seed and wild crafted and virgin acai berry oils for this adorable optic. Rich in lecithin, anti-oxidants and other unsaponifiables, these three oils make a perfect blend for inflamed, dry, mature and scaly skin.
How to control the viscosity
As you can observe on the photo, the viscosity of the mask is suitable for an application with a spatula, it couldn't be brushed over the skin like an emulsion mask. I don't recommend increase the viscosity anymore but if you prefer a lower viscosity you can increase the glycerin content to 28-30%.
Here we go with the recipe:
Phase A:
6.0% Dermofeel G5O
24.0% Glycerine 99,5%
Phase B:
23.4% organic and virgin hemp seed oil
15.0% virgin avocado oil
10.0% wild crafted virgin acai berry oil
5.0% Lavendel extract in organic baobab oil
3.0% oat lipids
3.0% Squalane
3.0% Calendula extract in organic castor oil
3.0% St John's extract in organic almond oil
2.0% Chamomile extract in organic jojoba oil
2.0% Tocopherol
0.1% Rosemary CO2 extract
0.2% Organic lime essential oil
0.1% Organic cedarwood essential oil
0.1% Organic fennel seed essential oil
0.1% Organic Petitgrain essential oil
Procedure:
1- Blend glycerine and Dermofeel G5O @RT. This is easily done by a spatula or glass rod.
2- Blend all ingredients in phase B @RT. very slowly (and this is the most important part of the whole procedure) add phase B to phase A in small aliquots. Blend after each addition to completely incorporate the oil. Do not let any oil pool to be formed. If the oil is not correctly incorporated you have to discard the whole batch because you'll end up with a 2 phasic something that is neither an oil nor a gel. Try to avoid any agitation. You don't want any bubbles to get trapped in your gel.
3- After all of the oil phase is added and incorporated stop blending. The gel might look a little bit turbid but it is because of some air bubbles.
4- Fill the gel in a pretty container and voila, this is your oleogel mask full of amazing nutritive and anti-oxidant ingredients.
