Beautiful scented tarts with uplifting essential oils of Mandarine Orange and Peppermint.
This wonderful mixture of essential oils is cooling and refreshing in summer (I mean when it's really hot) and is uplifting and balancing the failing sunshine by awful weather. Both essential oils are safe for children and are loved by children (specially the mandarine orange).
For this project we preferred to do without pigments. Mandarine EO has such an intensive color that the wax would appear yellowish even without any pigment. Of course you are free to apply any pigments or colorants to your wax.

For this project you need:
100 gr Stearinwax
6 ml Mandarine essential oil (Citrus reticulada)
2 ml peppermint EO (Mentha piperita)
a mold (we've applied a chocolate mold )
packaging material (optional)
Patience and good mood
So, let's get started.
One: Wight Stearin wax (100 gr)
Two: Put the pot in water bath and stir the wax every now and then for a homogeneous heat distribution. The water should be between 80-90 oC. We've applied a chopstick for stirring.
Three: After the whole wax is melted remove the pot out of water bath. Continue stirring and measure the temperature.
Four: At max. 60 oC, add the essential oils (6 ml mandarine, 2 ml peppermint). If the wax hardens meanwhile heat it slightly in the water bath to melt the whole wax. Avoid overheating after adding the essential oils.
Five: Pour the wax with a steady hand in to the form. With our applied form we could prepare 17 pieces out of 100 gr stearin. Let the wax cool at room temperature. It takes about 30 Minutes. You can easily demold the wax afterwards.
Six: Pack the wax pieces in an air tight sack/can etc.
Like every other perfumed product, the fragrant should be ripened in the wax matrix. Even if waiting is difficult, wait a few days till two weeks before using the wax.
