Natural hair care market is still in baby shoes and although you can find hundreds of fantastic natural and organic skincare products on and off line, you need to search long for reasonable "natural" hair care products.
Helping split ends after decades of torturing hair with synthetic products, harsh styling and chemical treatments (bleaching, dying, perming) seems quite a necessity which is often neglected by the few knowledgeable natural hair care formulators available.
In this tutorial we share a simple but effective natural product that helps cure split ends. Despite the fact that this is an oil based product it doesn't feel greasy and sticky at all, however you need to consider that this is not a styling product. It's a rescue and repair product that you apply to the hair ends (probably over night) and let the hair enjoy all those virgin oils and extract. Apply the balm with an downward motion toward the hair tip and avoid any up and down rubbing motion over the hair. You can certainly leave this balm over your for a longer time if you don't feel greasy (I now use this as a styling cream over my short hair and don't have any greasy feel).
The balm looks very juicy and shiny (not at all like a usuall balm). You may need to tweak the formulation to adjsut the texture to your ambient temperature.

Procedure:
1- Heat phase A in a water bath @ca. 75-80 oC. Stop heating when all of the butters and waxes are melted to a uniform melt.
2- Add phase B and blend.
3- Add phase C and start cooling down. Stir every now and then during the cool down to avoid graininess and sedimentation of the powders. Stir to a heavy trace and pour into suitable jars. Bring to the fridge and let it stay for 12-24 hours.
4- You can whip the balm (like we did) if you want. Wait till you get a heavy trace and then start whipping. You may need to whip the balm in several stages with cooling in the fridge between each two cycles. Transfer into jars when you reach the desired consistency.
