Despite all the media hassle about unisex skin and hair care, men's grooming products and specially beard pampering products are quite a hit (as long as having a beard remains so trendy)
This is why I decided to give a face lift to a recipe I made a long time ago (actually, my first beard foam tutorial was published in Nov. 2014. At that time nobody in Europe even have heard about the beard grooming craze!)
Anyway, since we're nearing the Valentine's you can make special gifts for your beloved ones or prepare a special men's grooming packet and where to start better than with a prebiotic beard shampoo?

| Decyl glucoside | 3,0% |
| Yucca extract | 3,0% |
| Natural solubilizer clear+ | 2,0% |
| Cedarwood oil | 0,1% |
| Bergamot oil | 0,2% |
| Green mandarin oil | 0,2% |
| Phase C | |
| Arginine | to adjust the pH |
| Preservative 1388 eco | 3,0% |
| Versatile BL | 0,5% |
Procedure:
1- Blend all the ingredients of phase A in a beaker at RT. The powders dissolve very easily in the hydrosols
2- Blend phase B in another beaker
3- Slowly add phase B to phase A. Try to avoid agitation.
4- After all of phase B is added to phase A prepare a 10% dilution of the blend in distilled water and measure the pH. In our case it was 4,6 and this pH is too low for our preservative system
5- Adjust the pH between 5,0-5,5 before adding the preservative system. We used Arginine for this purpose.
6- Add the preservative system. Prepare another 10% dilution and measure the pH again. It should be (for this preservative formulation) be between 5,0-5,5. If it is higher than 5,5 you need to use an acid to reduce the pH and if it is lower than 5,0 you need to add a base to increase the pH.
7- Take your stability samples and fill the foam in a suitable foamer bottler.
