Sculpting clay is my absolute favourite styling product since I have my hair cut short. It is so easy to use it (when it comes to hair styling, I'm the laziest person in the world) and so amazing. It imparts shine (real healthy shine, not that kind of pantene shampoo commericals shine) and tames the hair like a charm.
Since my last sculpting balm was used totally and I had to make another one for myself, I though I'll share the recipe with you.
You can use this balm for styling short hair or even use it as a repair balm (lots of active ingredients) for your long hair. In that case warm a pea size amount between your hand palms and apply from the middle to the end of the hair. You can do this overnight, cover your hair and then wash and rinse the hair or can apply it a few hours before hair washing.

Procedure:
1- Heat phase A in a water bath at 60-65 oC. Babassu oil is solid in winter . If you are working in summer or in a warm lab it might be in liquid form and you can blend it in phase B instead.
2- When phase A is fully melted stop heating and remove from heat. Add phase B and blend.
3- Start cooling down under occasional stirring.
4- At a medium to heavy trace add phase C. Keep in mind that the clay and other powders should be kept suspended by stirring.
5- Now add phase D and continue stirring. You may want to whip this balm. Whipping doesn't have any effect on the performance but changes the colour and texture.
6- At a high trace pour into suitable jars and put in the fridge for at least 10 hours before you bring the jars back to the RT and close the lids.
