We have been making and sharing body melt (lotion bar) and scrub bar formulations long before they became so fashionable. I personally love these cute pieces because they are easy to apply and since they don't last long the risk of contamination is low.
In today's tutorial, I'm sharing a cranberry scrub that you can pour in any shape you desire. These are excellent as giveaways, gifts or as a stand-alone product.
To improve the skin feel after rinsing (we're using polyglyceryl-4 oleate as the emulsifier) we've added SCI to the formulation. We have used the noodles as they are. They do not melt in the product. This means you can see and feel the noodles but since this is a scrub, there is no disadvantage about it. If you prefer a smoother appearance you can use the SCI powder (or grind our SCI noodles in a small grinder that you use only and only in the lab). Wear a cotton mask when you grind the SCI. The fine dust might annoy you.

Procedure:
1- Blend phase A and B in separate beakers. Heat phase A in a water bath between 75-80 oC.
2- Blend phase c in another beaker.
3- When the wax/butter phase is melted stop heating, remove from the bath blend at room temperature to cool down to <50 oC and then add phase B
4- Blend to a thick trace before you add phase C
5- Pour in a suitable mold and put the mold in the fridge for at least 6 hours (we let the mold remain in the fridge overnight)
6- Remove from mold and pack them first in wax paper and then in suitable jars or cardboard boxes. You can pack them alone or mix them with other body melts and scrubs for more fun and colour variation
