Quaratine formulating: Prebiotic handwashing gel

Ingredients:

Procedure:

1- Add phase B to phase A while stirring. An overhead or a magnetic stirrer make the task very easy but you can manage small batches even with a spatula.

2- For this step you need either an overhead stirrer, kai blendia, dynamix or a spatula for small batches when you don't have any of these mixers. Add the gum to (A+B) while stirring. Watch this video about gum dispersion without clumping. Let the gum hydrate for 30-40 minutes. This makes the final product much smoother

3- Meanwhile blend phase D in another beaker. Stir very slowly to avoid bubbles and foam

4- Now either turn your overhead mixer to a very slow speed or use a spatula and your hand and slowly, I mean very slowly and little by little add the surfactant phase to the water-gum phase.

5- After all of the surfactant phase is blended, make a 10% dilution for pH measurement. In our case it was 5,49 and it is ready for adding the preservative

6- As per experience I know that our preservative blend increases the pH. We added the preservative and at the same time some lactic acid to reduce the pH.

7- Make another 10% dilution and measure the pH. In our case it was 5,45 which is perfectly in range

8- Take your stability and micro kit samples and fill the rest in suitable bottles or tubes.
