The moment I had my hands on Sapogel Q, I knew it is predestined for a self-preserving clay mask. You can probably remember our previous tutorials with the late dermofeel G5O which was discontinued by the supplier. Sapogel has almost all the same aspects and could be applied in various ways and a broad range of products.
I have been using this product as a facial cleanser as well as a mask and am happy with both ways. If you want to create this as a cleanser you may want to short cut some of the active ingredients and reduce their concentration. If you want to make it as a mask, I recommend keeping the active ingredients and maybe even adding your own favourites. Just make sure you consider incompatibility and safety issued when adding other ingredients (you need to run stability testing anyway)
This mask/cleanser is designed for acne-prone and sensitive skin.

Procedure:
1- Blend phase A and B in separate beakers. The powders in phase B do not dissolve, you need to stir this phase to keep everything suspended. Some clumps may build but they would disappear when you add phase B to A and stir thoroughly.
2- Very slowly and in small portions add phase B to A and stir after each addition. An overhead stirrer is perfect for this purpose. You can even use a magnetic stirrer at the begining and as long as the viscosity is low but when the viscosity increases at the end the magnetic stirrer becomes useless. You can stir small batches from beginning to end with a spatula. (watch this video for more information)
When both phases are completely blended take your stability samples and fill the rest in a tube or suitable bottle. A jar wouldn't be quite suitable because by adding (accidentally) water to the contect it will:
1- not remain self-preserving anymore
2- Become milky and cloudy in the container and you'll loose the gel-to-milk effect
This is why a tube, a tube bottle or a lotion-pump bottle is the best option.
