Elderberry oil is one of the few liquid oils with a low content of oleic acid. Its major components are the omega-6 linoleic and the omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid. This makes it an excellent oil for regeneration and anti-inflammatory purposes.
Low contents of palmtitic and stearic acid contribute to the film forming and protective properties without a negative impact on the skin feel.
Application and storage:
Elderberry oil has a high iodine value. This means the oil is very susceptible to oxidation. The tocopherols and carotenoids make it more stable but still you shall store this oil in a cool place and protected against light, humidity, oxygen and heat.
Apply elederberry oil during the cool down phase. Do not heat this oil. Avoid overhead exposure to oxygen and exposure to light by storing the oil in suitable containers.
